I really liked this unit in store, however, when I got it home realized the storage is not as great as I thought it would be. The ice maker is noisy and makes such a mess!! You can't use a large cup to get ice without it spilling all over the place. And the leveling mechanism is problematic.

I have had this a bit over a month and a half. While I like the esthetics of it going with my other appliances, it's a bit loud. I also wish the water dispenser would have been better placed. While trying to get ice it is easily bumped and water shoots out onto the floor. I like the openness of the fridge. The freezer has lots of room. The fridge drawers seem a bit flimsy. I hope they hold up.

The fruit and meat drawers do not regulate the moisture, and I™€™ve lost tons of fruit that wilted. The freezer is tiny, so I™€™m glad I kept my freestanding freezer. At the bottom of the refrigerator it shows the hose and other things on both corners, I think it looks tacky and needs covers, but I was told you don't have any. Not happy! Poor Design... try and get ice out of the dispenser and be careful not to hit the water nozzle, which is in front of the ice dispenser, especially if you have a larger glass or you'll be mopping the floor. Never would have bought it had I'd known this. Usually ice and water are beside each other. Plus, it's stainless steel and now starting to show some rust. It's only a few years old.

Horrible freezer door design

This refrigerator has a horrendous front water and ice dispenser design. The cutout is too small for a standard glass and when trying to get ice in a tumbler, it is completely worthless. Half of the time water will spray down the outside of your glass when trying to get ice because of the front and back design placement of the water and ice. The refrigerator works, which is why it™€™s not getting a 1 star review, but I would choose almost any other refrigerator over this one if I could fit any other fridge in my kitchen™€™s refrigerator cut out.

This is the worst fridge I have purchased. The ice maker is junk. We have only had it 5 months and already needed it serviced. If it DOES make a few pieces of ice, they get jammed as they come out and if you don't pay attention, they melt in the dispenser and then ruin your hardwood floor with all the water. I had to put a run in front of the fridge just to save my floors. The water dispenser is SO awkward!!!! Try to get ice and you will hit the water button and then get water on you and the floor. The fridge itself is fine per the size and how it cools. But the ice and water features are WORTHLESS.

AWFUL ice and water dispenser

The fridge itself is OK. no issues with size or look or temp. BUT the ice maker, water dispenser and customer service to get them fixed are the worst I have experienced in my time on this earth. The water dispenser is in a terrible spot. You can't rest your glass anywhere and because of the location, when trying to get ice - you will hit the water dispenser and get water all over yourself. The ice maker is HORRIBLE. It is so tiny most of the glasses won't fit under it. It only makes FOUR pieces of ice a day (if you are lucky) and then it will randomly spit out ice onto the floor at 2 am so it can melt unattended and ruin my hardwood floors. I had to put a rug in front of the fridge so it will catch random ice and water issues before the floor is completely wrecked. I had to start making ice in some old-classic ice trays from my pop fridge in the basement. Why would I buy a fridge with an ice maker and then need to dedicate a full shelf in the freezer to make ice in separate trays????????? The FOUR pieces of ice per day were not enough so we tried to call and get it looked at. Good Luck getting anyone at Amana to answer the phone or help you with the issue. I started asking around and there is a well-known problem with the chip/brain that runs the ice machine. Well known to everyone EXCEPT Amana. I bought it because it was made in America - but the joke is on me.

Good fridge (with some minor issues)

I bought this refrigerator almost a month ago, and it is working fine. It's not fancy, but it does what a fridge should do--keeps things cold and/or frozen. Small issues that might matter to some customers: 1. the motor is fairly loud when running. This may not bother everyone, but compared to our last refrigerator (Frigidaire), the Amana is noticeably louder when running; 2. the water dispenser is in an easily accessible location, but it does tend to drip a bit after dispensing water, and those drips catch the edge of the drip plate and run down the front of the fridge. This is a minor issue, but to keep the front of the fridge looking nice, I find myself wiping it up frequently because of the water drips.

Fridge is ok ice maker is slower than my last one. Biggest complaints are whatever the spray in the doors for insulation oozed out of the corners of the doors and stuck to the sides. The protective film that they put on the doors was pinched in on the sides so it was very difficult to remove. My biggest complaints is the Amana emblem was glued on crooked very disappointing.

I gave 4 stars because there are something missing: (1) instruction not detailed enough to understand how to operation. For example, I had difficulties in installing handles; to level up the doors; and even to get the first water out (there are 2 places from water area, one is for water, another is for ice. I thought they were from the same outlet....I hope the manual is much accurate and explanatory. Love this refrigerator. I shopped online and had it delivered. I wanted a basic refrig with ice and water in the door. The price was excellent and the delivery people were very professional.

We got this to replace our old one that failed. So delivery was important and it had to be black because our kitchen is black. After-market drawer options would be helpful.
