We have purchased it few weeks ago as attachment for our favourite KitchenAid.
After just FIRST use (!) for meat grinding - metal part inside (worm gear) failed. Literally screw at the end of metal part of worm gear has broken. Looks like weak material or construction failure.
I expected strong and reliable device from KichenAid brand got poor quality and money waste instead. Definitely do not recommend it !

Would Not Attach to My Blender

I bought this a month or two ago, and I also purchased casings, curing salt, and recipe books. Then, when I tried to attach the grinder, there was nothing to attach it to! The inside metal part with the square hole was missing completely from my blender-it was never there! I tried calling support, but I got nowhere. My only options were to take my blender to a KitchenAid store (400 miles away), pay $25 for just a diagnosis, and then pay who knows what for them to install the attachment that should have already been installed OR to pay about $200 for a shipping package, then the $25 diagnosis fee, and then more for the installation. I can afford neither. So my attachment, and all the accouterments are useless. The support people were extremely unhelpful.

Just like the mixer itself, this is a quality made accessory by kitchenaid. I'm not surprised it's so easy to use and even to clean considering how amazing all the kitchenaid products I own are. I would recommend this to anyone looking to grind their own meat!

I always dream about having a Kitchen Aid, being " the high end." Yesterday was the day, when I bought a stand with the mixer, and the grinder attachment. Got home and I try to grind 4 pounds of meat. After approx 2 pounds, the grinder start to make a strange noice. I stoped, and check, one inside metal piece broke. I took the attachment to Kohl's, and got another attachment. Got home, and try to finish my grinding. I was not able to finish my grinding, and the attachment broke in the same place! I am very, vey disappointed by the quality. Today, I will return the attachment and the stand to the store. I will never try or recommend any Kitchen Aid products to anyone! This brand suppose to be quality, but I realized that now because the" got the good name," they do not care about their quality anymore....For quality, performance, value, I will try to give Andre "very poor", but that it is not a option for the review.

I've had this attachment for a number of years now, and I couldn't be happier with it. It has allowed us to choose what cuts of meat we are eating, as well as their fat content. I also use it every Thanksgiving day to grind up cranberries and oranges for our families traditional relish.

I often buy meat in bulk especially when it is on sale. Lately, I have found that some of the cuts aren't as tasty cooked whole and decided to use the meat grinder. The meat grinder is such an easy way to tenderize cheaper cuts of meat, and infuse them with seasoning. It does work better if you cut the meat up in pieces and trim the fat to an acceptable amount. Also this meat tastes so much better than meat than you buy already ground at the store. Also if you have any hunters in your house, this works wonderfully for game meat. It is a great way to process your own meat and control what your family is eating. Great tool!

What a fun product! I had to find a recipe that I knew we would enjoy so the family and I decided to make sausage that we used for biscuits and gravy! The attachment was pretty easy to attach to my mixer and the instructions were simple enough that we were able to get it to work the first time. I did a great job of grinding up the meat and we look forward to trying new recipes with it.

I can't say how excited we are about this little grinder attachment. Of course I've used and loved my KitchenAid mixer for years and years... why didn't I know they had a grinder attachment?! We are hunters and cannot wait to process the usually wasted deer and elk scraps (not to mention everyday meat scraps) for healthy dog food for our 4 dogs! Our first grind was a large London Broil that ended up being the BEST taco meat... I highly recommend getting one of these if you have a mixer.

This is such a great addition to my kitchen aid, the food grinder will make wonder hamburger from beef, chicken or turkey, great sausage made to my taste, can't wait to experiment with potatoes veggies and different sausages and burgers. Oh my God! I am so excited when I got this! I have been waiting for so long to get this attachment and I finally own it!!! I love to cook and the kitchen is my favorite place to hang out in my house. I have been missing my home country and one of the ways I cope up with it is by cooking home cooked meals. I am a meat lover so this attachment is very useful to me. The set includes food pusher, removable tray, main housing, grind screw, blade, grinding plate and a collar. The grinding plate comes in two. One is coarse with bigger holes and the other one is for fine grinding with smaller holes in it. These materials feels very sturdy and I am confident that this will last a long time. The grnder is very easy to assemble and use. First is to insert the grind screw into the main housing and place the blade at the end of the screw. The sharp side should be facing out. Choose your desired grinding plate depending on your what you're making and place it over the blade. Place the collar and turn it clockwise to securely close it. Now you are ready to use it. Before using it make sure to chop up your ingredients so that it will fit on the feeding tube. This attachment is great in grinding meat, hard cheeses and vegetables. Very easy to clean as well. Not all parts are dishwasher safe. So i prefer to just prefer to soak it into warm soapy water and dry it thoroughly. So far I have grinded pork and beef and it was a breeze. Now I don't have to buy ground meat in the market and I can also control how lean or fatty my ground meat will be. I am impressed and so happy with the outcome everytime I use it. I highly recommend.

Works great and is easy to add on to the mixer. It worked well and ground meat up pretty fast and smoothly. I would recommend this product. It also looks nice added on. You can tell it was not a piece that came with the mixer, but it still looks good. I had fun using this grinder because it made it so easy to do. I will be grinding more foods from now on and have even ground up veggies in it. Bread crumbs was a breeze as well. I really like this item.

I love my kitchenAid Mixer and was so excited to use the Food Grinder attachment. The Food Grinder attachment is very easy to attach to the mixer, as well as remove. The instructions are clear and easy to follow when using this attachment. The grinder piece seems well made. I do recommend putting all grinder pieces as well as the meat in the freezer to ensure it's very cold prior to using.
The grinding process is not extremely slow and the grinder does an excellent job, especially when running the meat through twice. The machine is slightly loud but that is expected. You can use the food grinder for many different meats or salsas. When using this food grinder I found my burgers were so much better tasting compared to pre ground meats.
The only problem is that the food grinder is tough to clean throughly. Overall I am pleased with this item and look forward to continuing to use the grinder in my kitchen.

Wow. Easy to attach, easy to follow the instructions, works great. It's so fun to grind your own meat and choose your own ingredients. I ground some chuck roast into ground beef with onion and spices, and voila -- the best meatballs! This grinder attachment is life changing, I love it. Easy to clean too.

I love that we can add attachments to our mixers because it saves on counter space. It is easy to attach and just as easy to clean. Thankfully this grinder is not only great for meat, but you can use it on vegetables as well. When I make meatloaf I like to add some vegetables to to add extra nutrients to our family meals. It gives it a nice taste and also adds extra bulk. I can grind the meat and go right in to grinding some vegetables to add to it. I am excited about finding new ways to use this grinder.

I am a massive Kitchenaid fan, just look at my kitchen! I've had the stand mixer for awhile now and I love it. But I always had to use a separate appliance to grind my pork for sausage. Until I found this attachment. I don't use it often so I'm glad to have found an attachment to an appliance I use all the time. It grinds really nicely. That did surprise me actually. I highly recommend it!

The KitchenAid food grinder attachment is really nice! I had expectations of the entire unit and all of its components to be made out of stainless steel. This is not the case; the main housing is made out of plastic which I find incredibly hard to clean. Otherwise, this grinder works extremely well and it's mostly user friendly.
The instructions for the attachment are clear and easy to understand. They walk you through putting the grinder together. I didn't have any issues at this stage. I was able to perfectly set it up, and then grind food up to my expectations without any issues. The plunger works well and this attachment is easy to use and feed food into. I like that it comes with two plate sizes for different types of foods. I appreciate that this is a multi-functional tool.
Once the grinding is finished, taking the grinder attachment apart is a little tricky. Especially removing the collar and then the grinding plate when they are covered in grease. It is very hard to get the plate out of its designated notch/tab spot. It took some serious effort to pry it out of there.
Lastly, cleaning this entire unit was not easy. If you were grinding something other than meat it wouldn't be as difficult. The grease from the meat really held on to the plastic. I was surprised it didn't come with a cleaning brush. Luckily, I have a long bottle brush that was able to go into the housing and really clean it out well and around all of the small parts.
All in all, I really like this attachment. It's super easy to put together, use, it grinds food well and flawlessly, although clean up isn't my favorite the results speak for themselves. I would absolutely recommend it.

This grinds perfectly. I was able to grind up some of our game meat into sausage and hamburger. I love that it attaches perfectly to my mixer and it's super easy to wash. The packaging was nice and it was easy to open that I didn't cut myself. Will be looking to purchase other accessories!

As of I wasnt already in love with my kitchen aid mixer, I am now more in love with it. This is my first attachment I've tried to use with it. I wanted to grind some hamburger for meatballs and this was amazing! It was easy to attach it and super simple to use. It was a breeze to detach and and clean also. It does do a lot at once but that was fine with me i was just amazed by it. It made the perfect grinded up hamburger for my meatballs. It seems like a quality product and it wasnt super loud when I was using it either. This is the best thing I've found in a long time as far as I'm concerned!

I like the food grinder attachment, sometimes i like to eat ground chicken so this is very convenient for me. While the product is plastic, the material quality is good and is very durable. It comes with two grind sizes that is very beneficial, I grind with both large first, then the smaller size blades and the quality of the ground chicken was as good.This attachment was easy to use, take apart, and clean. The product material was easy to clean, very easy to remove and reassemble. I will definitely use it regularly to grind.

This food grinder is a must have attachment for your KitchenAid stand mixer! I have used it to grind up fresh steak cuts (both beef and lamb) to totally elevate and transform burgers, meatballs, and dishes that require ground meat! Instead of using traditional ground beef from the store, with this grinder I'm able to take much higher quality meat and grind it to use in those recipes with a much tastier, fresher and higher end result. It's super easy to use and not difficult to clean, making it convenient to use regularly. The attachment is high quality and durable, just as expected from KitchenAid products! I highly recommend it!

It can grind many things well without much effort, from vegetables to meats. Used this small grinder to make great ham salad and chili sauce, it work as well as I through, it is a very durable attachment, you can put it in the dishwasher, easy to clean and make sure the grinder is dry before you store.

I've been wanting a grinder for my kitchenaid mixer. It officially happened. I was afraid I would be a little intimidated by it but nope. Absolutely nothing to be intimidated by. It is so simple and easy to use! My husband is obsessed with this thing too! He makes his own homemade burgers and loves using already grounded up sirloin steak for his burgers but since we have this adapter now, he tried grinding his own sirloin steak and was absolutely amazed. He won't buy ground sirloin from the store again. It is so easy to use. I can't wait to use it more. It makes the perfect consistency. Only complaint is cleaning it is a little bit of a work but it's totally worth it!

I love cooking and even went to school for it. My kitchen aid is one of my favorite products to use in the kitchen and it has many neat attachments. I had been wanting the good grinder for awhile now. I make my own dog good and my main ingredient is ground chicken, it's such a pain making ground chicken so this attachment has come in handy! I am always weary of buying ground hamburger from meat stores due to not knowing what all is in it. I now and able to ground my own hamburger with this! Nothing better than grinding your own meat and knowing what it in it. This attachment has been amazing and I think anyone who has a kitchen maid mixer should have this!

Such a great accessory!! I have already used it for my family twice! I didn't think I would have been able to figure it out but I did. It worked like a charm. I used it for hamburgers one night and plan on using it tonight. Love it. Ty.

I love knowing where my ground meat is coming from. I can buy large cuts and break them down to make my own combinations for burgers, meatloaf, meatballs and sausage. I also like the coarse grind for chili. No more pre-packaged mystery meat! I can also control the fat content. Win, win!

I am very happy with this attachment. I so far have ground beef and pork to make burgers and meat loaf. There is metal in this device but the majority of it is a pretty sturdy plastic. It attached very easily to my blender and was extremely easy to use and clean.

As someone who works for a sausage company (in the lab), I operate a countertop commercial grade meat grinder on the daily, so I had my reservations. As soon as it arrived my husband unboxed it (and wait for it.....read the directions/suggestions....in their entirety!), hand washed all the pieces, and put them all in the freezer. Then it was off to the grocery store to choose the meat. The hubs picked out two types he wanted and then came home and cut them into approx. 1" cubes, onto a cookie sheet, and into the freezer with the grinder parts. Thirty minutes later he was ready to rock. He assembled the pieces and had them attached to the KitchenAid in the amount of time it took me to turn around and get the meat out of the freezer....so like 15 seconds. Then it was time for the magic. This little attachment ground the meat better than my commercial one! Sure some of that was freezing everything, but it's also a surprisingly powerful little grinder! My one con, I wish that the auger throat was steel instead of plastic as I'm incredible clumsy and sure to drop/crack it at any given moment.

I used this to grind up my ground beef and other meat. Really liked it because it is easy to do and no mess. The attachment is easy to apply and easy to clean. The meat comes out perfect and no trouble getting stuck or clogged.
